Thumbs up on Mooradian’s Emmy Nomination for Soul Man

BB&S appreciates George Mooradian, ASC’s innovative cinematography so we’re not surprised that he got an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Cinematography

For A Multi-Camera Series for his work on Soul Man.

We are happy that George used Area 48 Soft lights to bring authenticity to a pivotal plot last season. The timely storyline featured the main character running for political office. So when a friend mentioned that he had just delivered BB&S lights to be used for the Republican debate in Las Vegas, Mooradian brought the idea back to his Soul Man set. Mimicking the real life debate, he ringed a dozen Area 48s over the table where the actor “debaters” sat.

Mooradian says, “It worked and really helped the actors. They felt the realism. We even added a fifth camera outside the ring that showed our cameras filming the debate. So we went from an objective view to subjective view. Everyone came up to us after the shot, saying they were happy it went so well. That night I went home and watched the actual televised debate. I was pleased.”

Congratulations George. We will be watching out for you at the Awards on Sept 18, 2016.
